I have had a total knee replacement at the Spire hospital Nottingham by Mr Benjamin Bloch on the 31/3/21.
Mr Bloch took the time to explain what he was going to do and how it would effect me, he listened and answered all my questions. I am now recovering extremely well and would highly recommend him and would have no hesitation in having the other knee done by him should the need arise.

I had a full left hip replacement on 6th March 2021 performed by Mr BLOCH. This was only 6 weeks after my initial consultation with him, and I was an NHS patient, not privately funded. I cannot fault Mr BLOCH. He was personable, but professional in his manner and answered all of my questions honestly and in detail. Listening to his support staff, it would appear that Mr BLOCH has his own way of doing things, which may be slightly different from the other surgeons (eg epidural and sedative as opposed to General Anaesthetic/ dressings used etc). Clearly his methods are very effective as I was back home after my operation in just over 48 hours and my recovery has been swift and very successful to date. I loved how he came to see me after the operation to let me know how he thought it had gone. All in all, superb.

At my consultation with Mr Bloch he explained everything to me and put me completely at my ease, so that when I went in to hospital for my operation I was not worried or nervous. The treatment I had was first class and Mr Bloch came to see me to tell me what had been done. After my six weeks I went back to see Mr Bloch and everything has gone exceptionally well. I would like to thank Mr Bloch for giving me a new lease of life at 76 after many years of pain.

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in hip and knee surgery. My NHS practice is based at the City Hospital Campus, Nottingham University Hospitals. I also have a private practice at Spire Nottingham Hospital and at BMI The Park Hospital.
I perform a large number of hip and knee replacement operations – over 250 per year. I also have an interest in revision knee replacements and the treatment of the young patient with an arthritic knee.
I can offer treatments suitable for the younger patient including cartilage regeneration techniques, knee osteotomy, unicompartmental knee replacement and patello-femoral joint replacements where appropriate.
